 <description>&lt;p&gt;Nice article Jim.  Very succinct.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Regarding this statement: &quot;The last thing to remember is that there&#039;s no penalty for not getting everything done in a sprint.&quot;  I&#039;d like to add that there is also no reward for getting everything done.  Scrum is neither punishment-based nor reward-based.  At Sprint Review meetings it is easy to forget that and have managers either applaud the team, or drag them over the coals, demanding explanations.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If we want a &quot;no penalty&quot; culture we need to balance that with a &quot;no reward culture&quot;.&lt;/p&gt;
